Dr Ian Daniell is a graduate civil engineer. He joined the army in 1973 and for the next 20 years served around the world ending up in command of the Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal Regiment.
In 1994 he set up an interim management business which he ran for 10 years. For 3 of those years he was Chairman of the Interim Management Association when it was re-named, re-branded and re-launched.
In 2004 he decided to focus on his research into interim management and in 2007 completed the first professional doctorate to be awarded in this field. He is a regular contributer to the IMA Workshop and is frequently invited to speak, both nationally and internationally, about the industry. He also provides a range of consultancy services to existing and aspiring service providers and to individuals starting their businesses. In 2008 he hosted and chaired the highly successful International Conference for Research into Interim Management.
As well as his first degree and Doctorate in Professional Studies he has an MA in Management from the Kent Business School and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
